How to use this Handbook
What to expect
You’ll build your Inner Compass by completing a series of introspective exercises that we’ve carefully crafted. (We utilize guided introspection because, unfortunately, it’s really hard to reason directly about our values).
- You’ll complete one or more exercises at a time, at whatever pace feels right.
- While the insights you uncover may be immediately helpful, we estimate you’ll need 2-3 weeks of doing at least one exercise a day to build a robust Inner Compass.
Afterwards, you’ll use your Inner Compass to make fulfilling life decisions and form fulfilling habits, behaviors and mindsets.
What mindset is required
Picture a heart-to-heart with a close friend, letting your mind wander freely, without fear of judgment. Forget precision and coherence - let's explore your thoughts in new, exciting ways!
Embrace the unfamiliar, even if it feels daunting. Expect discomfort as you confront raw emotions and unknown corners of your mind, but remember, it's through this vulnerability we find true self-discovery.
Our journey isn't about instant change, but gradual self-understanding and growth. Confront and experience your emotions fully; it's in these moments we align actions with beliefs and find a life of true conviction.
Step into the unknown, as we unravel your thoughts, align your actions with your values, and help you craft a life that resonates with your truest self.
How the Handbook is structured
There are two parts to Inner Compass Work, each containing several subsections. Each subsection has a few chapters, which each contain one or more introspective exercises that you’ll be guided through.
How to complete an Exercise
Each exercise starts with important context, including “What you will get out of this” and “An example of this exercise at work.”
You must log in to respond to the steps.
Your responses automatically save every couple seconds. Make sure you see Last saved: just now before moving on to the next step!
You’ll be shown your previous responses when steps build off each other.
You’ll receive a summary of your responses at the end of each exercise,
